Unfortunately my spring break did not match the spring break week that the kids got. Its too bad, because it would have been fun to take a break and spend some time together.

Instead, I spent my spring break getting in a few extra hours at work, going to the dentist (wahoo!) and attending a conference. I was really excited to get a scholarship to attend the Intercultural Management Institute conference – it was really good! (You can read my live blogging posts here. )So it wasn’t exactly a “do-nothing” spring break, but it was nice to just go to work, then come home and spend time with the fam. I listened to music and podcasts while I was on the train, and it was kinda nice!
The next week, when it was time to get back to the work (fellowship) and school combo schedule again, it was kinda hard to get motivated. But, it happened. I really love my classes, so that helped.
So this past week, while I was working and going to class, my in-laws came into town and watched the kids. I tried to get them to come into the city with me, but they were happy staying here. The kids played, spent too much time playing video games, and got too much fast food…but that makes for the spring break they were asking for!
All in all, the uncoordinated breaks went fine – but I do think I’ll take a look at the calendar and see if there is a time when we can take some time off together!
